“…one of the hardest-working bands on the east coast.” – LegendaryRockInterviews.com

Trenton, New Jersey natives and resident favorites BEYOND DISHONOR recently released their highly-anticipated Generations EP. At this day and age, it’s common to wonder – how do local, unsigned bands like this make money to fund professional recording studios, album pressings, touring, and more? Kickstarter, Indie-GoGo, and other popular crowdfunding platforms have become a prevalent source for bands to reach out to fans to fund their projects and activities. But what if there were another way – a more creative, perhaps even interactive approach – to earning funds for your band, while providing an excellent event for fans and supporting local commerce and music?

ENTER #TWERKFUNDING – the term that the members of BEYOND DISHONOR have fashioned for their thriving method of hosting live music events with a scintillating twist at premier gentleman’s club Club Risqué Northeast in Philadelphia, PA. The band promotes monthly and sometimes even weekly hard rock and heavy metal shows chock full of up-and-coming local artists, which sounds average, but add sexy on-stage dancers and a busy nightclub atmosphere, and you have the perfect equation for a fantastic evening.

BEYOND DISHONOR frontman Reese Dunlap offers the band’s standpoint on their business venture, “Twerkfunding is fun and is as pointlessly silly as you think it is, but it’s also much more – it’s a band using the resources available to them to reach a goal, a goal that doesn’t come free. From a random idea 5 years ago, to a relationship with management that borders on family, BEYOND DISHONOR and Club Risqué have actually created a SCENE on the second floor of the most unlikely of metal venues in Philadelphia. There is mutual respect – for the club, for the girls, and for the patrons alike, and it has helped to send BD out on the road, to pay for albums and videos, and likewise to dispel the notion that these clubs are dirty, low class and misogynistic-ly driven. Regardless of race, religion, sexual choices, or gender, you were given that backside, so shake what yo momma gave you. #shake itoff #twerkfunding”

While providing an event that brings local music fans together in addition to garnering extra funding for a local business and its employees, BEYOND DISHONOR has found a tried and true way to earn money for their own projects.

BEYOND DISHONOR’s new EP Generations is available for pre-order now via the band’s Big Cartel page in several package options, including additional posters, t-shirts, snapback hats, and more. Generations boasts production credits from producer Andreas Magnusson, known for his work with The Black Dahlia Murder, August Burns Red, and others.

BEYOND DISHONOR combines eclectic styles and ranging influences to create music that is heavy and aggressive enough for the most hardcore of fans, yet rhythmic and groovy enough to be accessible to those on the fringe. Generations follows in the footsteps of the band’s previous releases, drawing inspiration from pop culture, primarily in the form of movies, television and gaming.
