Fresh off the heels of their 2023 album StrangersNight’s Edge is wasting no time waiting for recognition. With a haunting take on the Deftones’ classic “Change (In The House Of Flies)”, the alternative metal trio is powering into 2024 with a gothic howl, demanding ears to tune into their metallic symphony.

An omen of what lies ahead and a nod to the past, the Night’s Edge re-imagining of “Change” mutates the original with a more direct and driving approach, leading the song in new directions that differ wildly from the original while still being filled with the kind of Deftones worship that you’d expect from three huge fans of the classic group.

Night’s Edge says, “We knew we were taking a risk attempting this cover, transforming a classic song. But as massive Deftones fans, we knew we shouldn’t touch this song unless we could bring something new to the table. We’re confident that we succeeded in that, bringing our own hues and flavors to the sonic forefront while staying true to the song’s original vision.”

Check out Night’s Edge performing “Change (In The House Of Flies)” live. Filmed at Angel’s Rock Bar in Baltimore MD as part of the Maryland Day Festival, this video displays Night’s Edge‘s natural ability to bring passion, energy, and a lighthearted coolness to the stage reminiscent of their rock star predecessors.

This new cover is the band’s bridge from their third album Strangers, a gothic/industrial metal parable on social isolation and its many forms in the modern world (released in December of 2023), and the new singles that the band is tailoring to release in late 2024 and beyond.

With many live shows on the books in 2024 throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, the band will be grinding the stage as well as the studio. Night’s Edge has a lot to say, their own new twists to inject into modern heavy music, and no plans to slow down.
