Bands that take on a “theme” often end up pigeonholing themselves, releasing album after album with the same overarching concept and sound. When it came time to write and record their upcoming full-length album, Die On My Ride, Global Music Award-winning nomadic folk metal group TENGGER CAVALRY recognized the opportunity to expand on their celebrated exotic sound and lyrical explorations of tradition, history and warfare by delving into more personal, topical themes of racial discrimination, identity, equal rights and freedom.

Die On My Ride, which is scheduled to hit stores on June 2, 2017 via M-Theory Audio, delivers the potent, inimitable metal-meets-Mongolian/Central Asian world music sound that diehard TENGGER CAVALRY fans have come to know and love, while incorporating fresh styles and concepts that a whole new fanbase will enjoy.

Die On My Ride is a rather different album than all of our previous releases,” states TENGGER CAVALRY mastermind and frontman Nature G.“This album reaches a more personal place for us. We discuss personal struggle surrounding identity conflicts, racial discrimination and individual freedoms. I think an important part of existing in modern society is learning to accept one another for who we are and embrace our differences, and to look beyond that to find a deeper connection between each race or ethnic group. Coming from a different place and walking the line between the Mongolian music world and American music world is sometimes challenging for me. I see all kinds of stereotyping and people throwing hatred, prejudice and judgment at one other because of arrogance, insecurity or simply a lack of understanding. This creates a huge identity conflict for individuals. These concepts make up a lot of what this album is about. Being yourself, pushing past judgment from others, being strong and fighting for your individual freedoms.”

Nature G continues, “Musically, I intentionally tried to incorporate more clean vocal choruses, semitones and western minor scales, rather than stick just within our traditional Mongolian folk style. We also incorporated piano to add a more emotional element to the songs.”

Die On My Ride was self-produced at Nature G’s production studio Raiding Media, and is available to pre-order now in both physical CD and vinyl format via M-Theory Audio or digitally via the band’s Bandcamp page.

Die On My Ride is TENGGER CAVALRY‘s first album available in vinyl format, as well as their first album to be released with M-Theory Audio – the new label recently launched by Marco Barbieri, former president of Century Media Records and Nuclear Blast America.

About TENGGER CAVALRY:
As one of the most unique and innovative acts in modern music, TENGGER CAVALRY (“the army of the sky god” in Mongolian) blends the nomadic musical traditions, instrumentation and warrior spirit of Central Asia with the aggression and power of heavy metal. The group was founded by Nature “G” Ganganbaigal, who sings using the ancient Mongolian tradition of Khoomei (more commonly known as throat-singing) and plays multiple native instruments, including the Morin Khuur (an ancient fiddle), the Tovshuur (a Mongolian guitar) and the Mongolian flute.

Following Nature G’s relocation to America four years ago, TENGGER CAVALRY has successfully completed two headlining tours and even sold out a performance at New York City’s prestigious Carnegie Hall.

In the studio, meanwhile, the group’s output has been prodigious – since forming in 2010, they’ve released four full-length albums, two EPs and numerous singles, including unique cover interpretations of metal classics. In January, Megadeth‘s Dave Mustaine retweeted the group’s cover of “Symphony of Destruction,” while the previous month, the official Motörhead Facebook page reposted their rendition of “Fight.”

TENGGER CAVALRY has been praised by top media outlets such as Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Billboard, CNN, The Huffington Post and countless others.
