Scott Sigler, #1 New York Times Bestselling Horror Author and One of the World’s Most Successful Podcasting Authors, and his “Killer” Band SUPERWEAPON Present Grindhouse-Inspired “Run” Video

Watch “Run” HERE!

“Run” is a heartwarming story about a boy from the midwest who screws over a buddy, and gets dismembered for it. Yeah, SUPERWEAPON is all about the bonds of friendship. Scott Sigler shares
“This song is a reminder of the saying ‘if you come for the king, you best not miss.’ ‘Run’ is the story of a crime lord who was betrayed by his closest friend and consigliere. The crime lord was abducted, tortured and marked for death, but he escaped. Now he wants his revenge to play out slow, sweet, and terrifying.” Sigler further states “I won’t mention the crime lord by name, because I don’t like getting shot. The crime lord was into exotic animals. Particularly giraffes. That’s all I’m at liberty to say right now.”

“Run” was directed by Mr. Merciless (a.k.a. Scott Sigler) and was shot on the set of Evil Dead the Musical. Like said musical, the video for “Run” is campy, ridiculous, and full of blood. A lot of blood. And some bitchin’ matching butcher’s coveralls. The video was inspired by Robert Rodriguez & Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse.

Austin Farmer, keyboardist, served as the Director of Photography and Editor for “Run”, as well as doing most of the camera work. Farmer will launch Invizium, a video production company, later this year.

“Shredtastic” guitarist Severiano Wada explains “I had a Judas Priest mindset for the guitar riffs, especially the ending part of the main riff. My guitar tones are always inspired by my 80’s metal heroes. Zakk Wylde with Ozzy, George Lynch, Van Halen – it’s definitely no secret that I’m hugely inspired by those guys and it shows in my playing. I think our new song ‘Run’ will grab the attention of a lot of different types of music lovers. It combines awesome 80’s metal guitar riffs and solos with a unique spin of horror-inspired lyrics and sweet layers of keyboard/synth lines.”

Joining SUPERWEAPON as the on-stage drummer for “Run” is Sean Kelly, who seemed to enjoy the bloody bits a lot. He also dug using the hacksaw. Scott Sigler testifies “He’s our kind of people.”

About SUPERWEAPON:
Visceral storytelling, shred guitar and synth-soaked 90’s arena rock fuse together into the molten glob of precious metal that is SUPERWEAPON. This mad sound combines the musicality of VAN HALEN and DOKKEN with the dark, theatrical presence of ALICE COOPER and OZZY OSBOURNE, then tops it all off with the orchestral scope of JOURNEY and RUSH.

San Diego’s SUPERWEAPON hails from the sunny perfection that is SoCal, where guitarist Severiano “Seve” Wada earned a degree in rock guitar from the Musician’s Institute in LA, and another in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University.

Cooped up by COVID shutdowns that kept him from live performances, Seve Wada combined with singer/bassist Merciless to found SUPERWEAPON in late 2020. Merciless, the alter-ego of #1 New York Times bestselling horror author Scott Sigler, wove word tapestries against Seve’s distortion-laced technical mastery, and yet this matter/antimatter mix of pending destruction wasn’t quite enough to make SUPERWEAPON’s sound soar — the addition of Austin Farmer on keys and angelic vocals crystalized the band’s scintillating structure.

With the triple threat complete, SUPERWEAPON recorded their four-song Demo of Doom, and did it all remotely due to COVID shutdowns — the three members had yet to be in the same room together. With their second EP on the way, driven by the cinematic epic single “Battlecry” and first track “Run,” the trio marches forward in a tireless quest for world domination.
