The 4th annual CALIFORNIA MUSIC INDUSTRY SUMMIT is an intensive 3-day artist showcase and 2-day music business convention with panels, workshops, and exhibits. “The Ultimate Platform for all Genres of Music”, will take place this year from Thu. Jun 13th through Sat. Jun 15th at Laney College, located at 900 Fallon Street in Oakland, CA.  OPENING KEYNOTE SPEAKER ANNOUNCED!

This year’s opening keynote speaker will be journalist, author and writer Fred Bronson! Many people know Fred Bronson from his work with Dick Clark and his appearances on American Idol. But what people may not know is that Fred Bronson is perhaps singularly more significant than both of those entities combined, and his contribution and work – by way of his Billboard books – far more invaluable.

YOUTH HIP HOP BATTLE SET FOR JUNE 15th!

CMIS is proud to announce their first ever Youth Hip-Hop Battle! The battle will take place on June 15th from11am-12pm at Laney College. To be considered, you must submit to the battle by Monday, June 3rd at 5pm. There is a $25 submission fee. The rules state that the battle is for youth ages 14-17 that are enrolled in high school. 10 individuals will be chosen to battle. Each battle will be one song for one minute and 30 seconds (1:30).

The 1st place winner will get sponsored by Golden State Management an all paid recording, mixing and mastering of one song at The Mint Studio owned by Multi-Grammy winning producer Bobby Ozuna.

*All youth that submit are automatically registered for free all access badges to attend the music conference on Saturday, June 15th ONLY.

WATCH ARTISTS PERFORM!

As mentioned above, CMIS features artist performance showcases. This year’s performers include CantoAcoustic MindsKonflict, G2Tom Richardson, YoshikoKwanza JonesMr. P ChillTrapdoor Social, and more. These showcases produce an electrifying and important platform for artists / bands. Performing at the CMIS annual conference and networking with other music groups, music industry professionals and music admirers in this unique conference setting can be essential to careers. Most of the showcases are open to the public.
