Tribute Event Tonight @ The Southland Ballroom, Raleigh, NC
Raleigh, NC modern progressive metal group VALLEYS is pleased to unleash their debut full-length concept album, Experiment One: Asylum, to the masses today! Experiment One: Asylum tells the story of main character Asylum, who battles with multiple-personality disorder stemming from a dark personal tragedy. Each track on the album explores a different personality, weaving the listener through a mind of severe mental illness with a dynamic, heavy soundtrack.
Order your copy of Experiment One: Asylum via iTunes now! While on the web, take a look at the music video for “The Death of Me” directed by Jaiden Frost of Jaiden Frost Presents.
“The band’s musical style also has multiple personalities, blending precise technical and extreme sections with melodic and more experimental parts. It’s very modern sounding with a lot of twists and turns in terms of tempo, atmosphere and intensity.” – Chad Bowar, About.com Heavy Metal

“…the balance of the material here is well conceived and equally well executed… Scurlack and company deftly navigate the music’s twists and turns as Mitchell and Clement play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on the mics.”– Peter Atkinson, KNAC.com

“Raleigh’s VALLEYS have crafted a well-executed progressive metalcore album with Experiment One: Asylum that is almost inhumanly spot-on for genre style points.” – Morgan Ywain EvansMetalRiot.com

“Sucking you in with melody and audio concepts, there is a softness that lures in listeners, then slams them up against the wall in hard hitting riffs.” – Marisa Williams, Examiner.com
While excited for the release of their debut album, the men of VALLEYS are still mourning the recent loss of their vocalist, 23-year-old Mikey Clement. Clement tragically passed away on February 5th in a car accident. It was a tough decision, but VALLEYS decided that the show must go on and they would release the music that Clement and the band worked so hard on.
In celebration of Mikey Clement’s life, VALLEYS will still perform at their album release show today at The Southland Ballroom in Raleigh, NC (614 N West St.). Being treated as a tribute show dedicated to his memory, the show will feature several local and regional metal vocalists standing in for Mikey, including Paul Huffman of A Boy Named Sue, Chris Roy of Take Heart, Dylan Barham of Blessed By The Broken, and Chris Walsh of Dear Desolate. In addition to VALLEYS,other bands performing will include Her EchoThe Death In MeA Boy Named SueTake Heart, and Guard Her Ways. For more information on the event and to RSVP, please visit the show page here.
Another event is currently being scheduled with proceeds benefitting the Clement family. VALLEYS will also launch an upcoming U.S. spring tour – more details are set to be announced regarding the tour in the coming weeks. See below for currently confirmed VALLEYS performance dates.
