Heavy Psych/Sludge Metal Band from Mumbai, India MIDHAVEN Drops Brutal New Single “The Veiler” + Announces Upcoming Japan Tour and Joins Clutch, Green Lung and Hermano at Desertfest London 2026
“‘The Veiler’ tackles arrogance, personified as an Asura. This song marks a departure from our musical style that had characterised our previous album ‘Of The Lotus & The Thunderbolt’. This song addresses the theme of hubris and conceit, that are often embedded within the layers of human identity, which has resulted in the heaviest song we’ve written to date.” – Midhaven
Midhaven returns with “The Veiler” – a brutal, crushing follow up to their acclaimed 2021 album Of The Lotus & The Thunderbolt. Midhaven, formed in 2011 in Mumbai, was the one of the first Indian metal bands (and the youngest band in Asia Pacific) to sign to a major label, releasing their full-length album, 2014’s Spellbound on Universal Music Group.
“The Veiler” features Karan Kaul on Guitars/Vocals, Aditya Mohanan on Lead Guitar/Vocals,
Akash Vyas on Bass, and is the last recording with Aviraj Kumar on Drums. Midhaven recently welcomed new drummer Aryaman Chatterji to their lineup.
Midhaven takes inspiration from Indian mythology and classical Indian music, noted in the Raag Todi vocals, whilst blending in Western influenced progressive and sludge metal.

About Midhaven:
Midhaven is a four-piece metal band from Mumbai, India. Striving to bring new sounds with an ‘Indic’ touch to the world of heavy music – the band’s strength was birthed in a confluence of heavy, western music blended in with Indian ‘Ragas’, creating evergreen, earth-shattering art with every release.
In 2013, Midhaven dropped their debut EP Tales From The Tide independently. Their first full length album Spellbound was released in 2014 through Universal Music Group. The band followed up with the critically acclaimed album Of The Lotus & The Thunderbolt in 2021 and Midhaven Live At Studio Island City, Mumbai in 2023.
Midhaven‘s single “Zhitro” won Metal/Hardcore Song of the Year at the third edition of The Indies, the digital award show for India’s independent music scene.
Midhaven supported Bloodywood on their France dates of the Return of the Singh tour earlier this year. The band will soon embark on a tour of Japan with their new drummer Aryaman Chatterji. Midhaven will make their UK debut at Desertfest London in 2026.
