Born To Survive is a seven-track EP, produced by Matt Guglielmo (The Acacia Strain) with vocal production by Spencer Sotelo (Periphery). The EP also includes a track (“Holy Ghost”) featuring guitarist Angel Vivaldi who collaborated with founding Bad Wolves members Tommy Vext and Chris Cain early on before Xander Raymond Charles traded bass duties for guitar and bassist Kevin Creekman joined the pack. Drummer Austin D’Amond serves as the heartbeat of With A Vengeance.
The notorious big bad frontman Tommy Vext shares “Born to Survive represents everything Chris Cain and I always believed Bad Wolves could have been, but could never fully realize. Reuniting with Kevin and joining forces with Austin and Xander has given us the freedom to create music rooted in brotherhood, mutual respect, and the belief that human connection and artistic expression will always be greater than the differences that divide us.”

With A Vengeance followed up “Shared Light” with “Oblivion” on October 2nd. The song hits with the blunt force of groove metal while pulling from the swagger and rhythmic vocal attack of early-2000s rap metal, anchored by a huge melodic chorus built for bigger audiences.
Lyrically, the song turns toward mental health and the complicated relationship between patients and psychiatric medicine, raising questions around informed consent, responsible treatment and unintended consequences.
“Oblivion is about questioning what happens when something intended to help starts creating consequences of its own,” says vocalist Tommy Vext. “It’s a serious subject, but we didn’t want to preach — we wanted to make a heavy, aggressive song with a massive chorus and let the video take the idea somewhere completely unhinged.”
The Michael Levine-directed video does exactly that. Joe Letz of Lindemann appears as an unhinged mad scientist who captures, tortures and biologically reengineers the members of With A Vengeance, landing somewhere between a midnight horror movie and a pharmaceutical commercial gone catastrophically off script.
